On September 5, a researcher from ISSP UL’s Laboratory of Materials for Energy Harvesting and Storage, Pēteris Lesničenoks, and a sales specialist from ISSP UL’s Materize unit, Jānis Muižnieks participated in Optics and Photonics Days (OPD) 2022 in Tampere, Finland.
OPD science and industry exhibition and conference is yearly organized by Photonics Finland and is a moving conference between the Photonics excellence cities in Finland, where all industry partners have a unique opportunity to come together, learn from interesting presentations, exchange knowledge, and meet scientists and other possible partners from Finland and abroad. This year’s industry topics were Imaging, Metaverse, Glass photonics, Lasers & Medical Technology
During the exhibition, representatives from ISSP UL met 30 industry members and established contacts with more than 10 potential partners from VTT, Vaisala, Business Tampere, and others.
CAMART2 outreach procedure has proven to be effective, as companies already recognized ISSP UL, and P. Lesničenoks and J. Muižnieks could proceed to speak about deeper problems that potentially could be solved together via innovation. The VTT company provided a possible tool for collaboration – ACTPHAST4. This tool connects interesting scientific topics with financing to build collaboration and it means potential for trilateral projects with the involvement of the ISSP UL.
