On October 5, the representatives from the ISSP UL’s Materize unit and the leading researcher from ISSP UL’s Laboratory of Visual Perception, Varis Karitāns attended the Optics and Photonics in Sweden 2022 conference and exhibition at Umeå University organized by PhotonicSweden and Umeå University.
During the exhibition, Materize’s (ISSP UL) pitch of services for industry and project collaboration was answered by such companies as EXFO (France), Tilquist, Coherent, and Hubnern-Cobolt. Additionally, other companies like Aimpoint, Spectrogon, Beamonics, Entangly, Oplatek, Photonics center and Smartare Elektron System participating in the exhibition were contacted.
Varis Karitāns participated at the conference with a poster presentation Implementing the Multi-plane Gerchberg-Saxton Algorithm in Digital Signal Processors.
There were about 200 attendees at the conference and 34 representatives of industry participated in the exhibition. Participants had an opportunity to visit Umeå university laboratories.
The conference and exhibition is an annual meeting place for the local industry members and representatives of the scientific community. It is also a job brokerage event for students and a project meeting place for members of the photonic industry. It is a travelling event between Photonics centers in Sweden (Stockholm, Umea, Lund) where local scientific communities present their capabilities to other scientists and international industry members.
