Visiting Austrian high-tech companies

In August, Materize Sales Director Olga Bogdanova visited Austrian high-tech companies to introduce the ISSP UL, its expertise fields and services. Four companies were visited, and interests were discussed. Common cross-points were highlighted mainly in characterization, coating, and cleanroom services.

Olga Bogdanova visited the privately owned nanotechnology company BrightComSol GmbH, a spin-off from the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences Vienna, based in Vienna, Austria. The company was founded in 2020. There are five employees manufacturing perovskite composites to screen and scintillator materials. The company was interested in a possible partnership for pyrroline coating and Al2O3 coating.

Another meeting was held with the company Miba Group, the core technologies of which are polymer and low-friction coatings, electroplated overlays, PVD coatings and atmospheric plasma coatings. Possible collaboration could be in developing various functional coatings and thin film deposition methods. The company was also interested in coating characterization.

Meeting with company RECOM Power, specializing in high quality, cost-efficient, energy and space-saving DC/DC and AC/DC converters, was also productive. A possible collaboration could be with the thin film development of semiconductors such as GaN, GaO, and PVD coatings. Also, possible material characterization with SEM, TEM and XPS.

A purposeful meeting was held with Varta Research & development department. It was a great start to building strategic relationships.
