New technologies and innovation days at the University of Latvia

This year, an extensive and interesting two-day program is planned on September 23 and 24, with the theme “Ability, opportunity - sustainable innovations”. Knowledge agora, idea laboratories and various opportunities for students, researchers, as well as every UL employee, graduate, and supporter to get involved.

One of the activities of the event will be the Knowledge Agora, giving researchers the opportunity to talk about their achievements, as well as students to present their innovative ideas, which have been developed in hackathons, incubators and think tanks this season. This year, the topics of the presentations will be divided into four sections: 1) natural sciences, 2) humanities and arts, 3) social sciences, and 4) medical and health sciences. At the last year’s event, Pēteris Lesničenoks, an early-stage researcher from ISSP UL’s Laboratory of Materials for Energy harvesting and Storage, presented Innovative wave energy convertor.   

The New Technologies and Innovation Days will be held for the third time and aim to showcase the latest discoveries in technologies and science in an exciting, user-friendly way, thus fostering public awareness and interest in study, research, and innovation.
