The annual chess tournament organized by the ISSP UL took place from November 7 to December 4. The aim of the tournament was to foster communication and team spirit among ISSP UL’s employees, enhancing their chess skills and determining the strongest players.
The tournament was organized by the ISSP UL directorate (director of the event, Laura Kalniņa, and referees Uldis Rogulis and Gunārs Bajārs).
All employees of ISSP UL, as well as students working on their bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral theses at the institute, were eligible to participate. Participants were required to assess their ability to play all tournament games within the scheduled timeframe. A total of seven players participated in the tournament.
