ISSP UL at the India-Nordic-Baltic Conclave 2020

Representatives from the Institute of Solid State Physics, University of Latvia participated in an online India-Nordic-Baltic Conclave 2020 “An Innovation-driven Partnership for Growth in a New World” on November 5, 2020. The event was organized by the Ministry of External Affairs of India and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). The aim of the conclave was to promote existing and identify new opportunities for India-NB8 cooperation on future technologies and innovations, as well as to share intelligence experiences with a view to building new knowledge and industry partnerships towards a digital and green future.

The India-Nordic-Baltic Conclave has offered the ISSP UL an opportunity to look for cooperation partners not only within the range of Nordic-Baltic countries (NB8), but far beyond. The conclave featured panel discussions on a range of future technology and innovation issues, such as digital infrastructure and 5G, artificial intelligence, data protection and cybersecurity, the future of manufacturing and the workforce, and green technologies.

The ISSP UL was represented by Head of Laboratory of Materials for Energy Harvesting and Storage Dr. phys. Gints Kučinskis and Head of the Laboratory of Chemical Technologies Dr. chem. Guntars Vaivars, participating in the first session "Renewable Energy and Clean Technologies".

Key features of the Conclave were series of interactive panel discussions with industry experts talking about the latest developments; B2B meeting portal built into the platform where potential partners could meet privately in virtual rooms; possibility to also showcase products and services through a virtual exposition, if required; virtual library to access documentation and above all - bring together all key stakeholders – policy makers, businesses and institutions- to facilitate dialogue and disseminate information.
