ISSP discuss possible collaboration in Italy

On January 17, representatives from ISSP UL - Deputy Director for innovation, MATERIZE Project manager and MATERIZE sales unit within the framework of CAMART2 project visited Centro Ricerche FIAT S.C.p.A. GML (Group Materials Labs), Innovation Cluster MESAP and Department of mechanical and aerospace engineering at Politecnico di Torino with the aim to present ISSP and MATERIZE activities and discuss about possibilities of collaboration.

Centro Ricerche FIAT (CRF) is an industrial organization having the mission to promote, develop and transfer innovation for providing competitiveness to FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles). CRF is organized in 4 technical divisions: Process Research, Vehicle and Body, Powertrain and Group Materials Labs. The division “Group Materials Labs” guarantees to the FCA companies the knowledge and applications of the materials from innovation to ensuring the quality of the materials in all phases of product development.

Mesap is the Innovation Cluster dedicated to Smart Products and Smart Manufacturing. It offers support with a wide range of tailor made services to meet companies’ needs: from the management of regional funds of calls for proposals, to the organization of training activities, from technology transfer, to the protection of intellectual and industrial property.

The Department of mechanical and aerospace engineering (DIMEAS) is the point of reference in Politecnico di Torino for the areas of knowledge that regard a broad spectrum of manufacturing activities which are typically associated with an advanced industrial society. These activities cover classical and cutting-edge domains in the mechanical and aerospace fields.

DIMEAS promotes, coordinates and manages basic and applied research, training, technology transfer and services to the local community regarding the automotive, aeronautical (fixed and rotary wing), rail, food and agricultural, textile and industrial plant sectors, which span the cutting-edge fields of space exploration, system engineering, new materials, micro and nanotechnologies, environmentally-friendly vehicles and aircraft, and biomedical engineering.
