ISSP UL’s Materize participates in National Industry Day 2024, showcasing collaboration and innovation in Latvia’s defense industry

On April 24, ISSP UL’s Materize platform representatives, including Sales Director Olga Bogdanova and Key Account Manager Jānis Muižnieks, participated in the National Industry Day "Industrial Showcase 2024." The event was organized by the National Armed Forces (NBS) of Latvia and the Federation of Security and Defense Industries of Latvia (FSDI). The opening ceremony featured speeches by Latvia’s Defense Minister, Andris Sprūds, and Timo Pesonen, the Director-General for Defense Industry and Space at the European Commission. Additionally, the Prime Minister of Latvia, Evika Siliņa, attended to familiarize herself with the goods and services produced and offered in Latvia that support the armed forces’ provision and supply system.

National Industry Day was a significant platform for Materize to demonstrate the possibilities made accessible through ISSP UL’s knowledge and technical resources. This collaboration encompasses various critical fields, including photonics, electronics, coatings, nanotechnology, and energy storage.

Throughout the event, Materize established new connections and rekindled relationships with existing partners, nurturing a culture of collaboration and innovation. The active development of partnerships between Latvian defense institutions, local businesses, and research organizations is promising. Together, these entities are dedicated to enhancing the readiness of the National Armed Forces to respond to crises effectively.

Industry Day primarily served as a platform for companies to exhibit their products and potentially establish new contacts. A total of 40 Latvian companies participated in the event, each fully equipped to meet the country’s needs.
